Pocky Two-Layer Vanilla White Review – Limited Edition Pocky by Glico
This article reviews Pocky Two-Layer Vanilla White and explains its flavor, texture, ingredients, and allergen information based on the product sold in Japan.
This product is part of Glico’s Pocky Two-Layer series, which focuses on enjoying the snack with all five senses. Glico even provides a “how to enjoy” guide encouraging people to slowly appreciate the aroma, texture, and flavor.
I previously reviewed the Two-Layer Cocoa Aroma Pocky, which turned out to be exactly as good as expected. Because of that experience, I naturally had high expectations for this Vanilla White version as well.
This particular product was released as a limited-edition item, meaning sales will end once the available stock runs out. When I purchased it, it already seemed close to disappearing from store shelves.

Packaging
The front of the package includes the phrase “gently wrapped with fluffy mousse.”
According to the official description, this Pocky consists of a cocoa pretzel coated with rich milk-flavored white chocolate, followed by a second layer of soft vanilla mousse-style chocolate.
The structure appears to consist of three main elements:
-
Cocoa pretzel base
-
Rich white chocolate layer
-
Vanilla-scented mousse chocolate coating
Small vanilla bean specks are visible in the outer layer. The package also states that Madagascar vanilla is used, which naturally raises curiosity about how the aroma and flavor will turn out.

Appearance
The Pocky sticks look exactly like the ones shown on the package.
The vanilla aroma is subtle and becomes noticeable only when bringing the bag closer to the nose. Even then, the scent is gentle but pleasant.

Looking closely, the coating is very thick compared with regular Pocky.
You can clearly see the small vanilla bean particles mixed into the surface of the chocolate coating. The Two-Layer series always seems to use a particularly generous chocolate layer.

Taste & Texture
Looking at the cross section reveals the two distinct chocolate layers, although both layers appear white and are somewhat difficult to distinguish visually.
When tasting it, the sweetness feels calm and well balanced while still delivering a rich milky flavor. The vanilla aroma works as a gentle accent rather than overpowering the chocolate.
One of the most satisfying moments is the first bite, when the crisp sound of the pretzel clearly reminds you that this is still unmistakably a Pocky.
Personally, I found that slowly chewing while letting the chocolate melt slightly in the mouth makes the experience more enjoyable.
The Two-Layer Pocky series continues to be a product line worth watching.

Final Thoughts
Pocky Two-Layer Vanilla White delivers a rich combination of milky white chocolate, subtle vanilla aroma, and crispy cocoa pretzels.
The thick chocolate coating and layered structure give it a more indulgent feel compared to standard Pocky varieties. As a limited product, it may not always be easy to find, but it is definitely worth trying if you encounter it.
